How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow Robert and I will be spending a bit of our time packing up the flat for our big move to the new place !!!  We were told that we could move into the new flat this Friday, but because the women who is moving out of the flat we are moving into is being LAZY, we might have to wait until Monday the 27th to move in.  But we both have time in the evenings until tomorrow, we will pack then !

Yesterday I took a relaxing bath before I met up with my friend Melissa for some coffee: (pictures before I left!)Special feature in this outfit is a red scarf my mom knit !!!!!
Today, I met up with my friend Meadhbh for coffee and did a little bit of shopping.  I purchased these pants and scarf which I love SO much !!!  I also bought a really nice skirt which I will feature in another blog post !
(above are the new shoes I purchased last time!)

After meeting with my friend Melissa I went to Netto to pick up some groceries for the week !  I bought a lot of things for making Robert's sandwiches in the morning.  Different meats, spreads, and bread.  I also picked up some other things !  Here is what I bought at the store today !  There's bread, tomato soup, shrimp, meat, meat salad, tortillas, shredded cheese, feta cheese, edamer cheese, grapes, ketchup, sour cream, flavored cream cheese, cream, and milk !  Nothing healthy really !!!  But they are all things which are easy to make while everything is packed this week in boxes !
Once I arrived home from the grocery store, I cleaned up the flat a little bit, did some laundry, and made some fettucini shrimp alfredo for Robert and my dinner !

It was a pretty good day, and tomorrow I am off to work at 8am !!!!

I hope everyone's weeks are beginning nicely !

We turn not older with years, but newer every day

Today is my birthday !!!  Robert and I woke up around 9:30am so that we could have a nice breakfast together and spend two hours together before he has to journey off for the day for a Handball Tournament. This morning while preparing the breakfast, Robert set the table for us.  When I came out with the plate of different things to eat I saw a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a present on my plate, and the cutest card from Robert :) We had talked about him not getting me anything, because we have spent about 3,000€ this month on our new flat.  But, he got me something anyway.  These beautiful flowers (which I think are so cute to imagine him picking out !)
And this card and Journal.  I have been looking at these kinds of Journals whenever we go somewhere, but could never spend the money on one.  Robert has seen me looking at these (it seems) and decided he would get me one.  I love that he picked it out and chose one for me.  That makes it extra extra special and I love it.

After reading my card and opening my gift, Robert and I had breakfast !
After Breakfast, I decided to open the box I received 2 days ago from my Parents.  Let me just tell you, it was the hardest thing these past two days to NOT open the box !!!  I had many thoughts in my head about how it could just 'accidently' open...and then I could see what's inside EARLY !!!  SO, now that the day is finally here, I was able to open it ! WOOP WOOP !  On top was a card which was wonderfully hand-made.  I smiled when I opened the envelope.  I think it is so lovely that My dad (?) took the time to make my card.  It made me so so sooooo happy ! The card made my day along with Roberts.  Here are the two cards.  The top one is from Robert and the bottom (handmade) one is from my parents !!!
After opening the card I opened the box: here is the first glance inside of the box!
YES !!! You see it right.  Can you believe someone (i assume my dad) wrapped these presents.  This is tissue paper.  Each piece was specially made and put together.  Whoever wrapped these had to chose colours, shapes, and everything.  First wrap the first layer, make the stripes, wrap them around...etc.  CAN YOU IMAGINE !!! I thought it was the most amazing thing ever and hated to have to ruin it by opening them.  Let me just tell you though, the wrapping on these presents was a wonderful surprise in itself.  It made me smile and laugh thinking about someone putting so much work into wrapping my gifts.  Finally though, I decided to dig in !
There were many treats for me inside and I thought I would open the wrapped presents last !
However, once I got to the bottom of the box, I lost it.  I saw a whole packet full of homework Silas had worked on  in School. I had to cry...
I have no idea why this made me so emotional, but it did.
(yes, I know, craaaazy hair !!!!)
Here is Robert making a sad face while we look through the packet together.  Robert loved Silo's 5's and how they are almost all mirror images of a 5 !  So cute :)  He's doing well though !!!!!! I felt so proud while I looked at his homework and couldn't believe he was doing it !!  I am definitely happy and excited for my little Silo to be learning :) !!!!
After looking through Silas's homework, I continued opening gifts !  I got so many goodies !!!
My mom made me some homemade caramels and granola which I was really excited to receive!
And I got some scar cream for my terrible knees !!!  I hope this helps them heal nicely !!
I will not list everything I received in here, as I think it is not necessary !  But, I had a lovely birthday morning with Robert.  We had a great breakfast and time together before he left for his game !  He will arrive home around 10pm this evening and we will go somewhere and have dinner for my Birthday.
I just received a call from Robert's mom and dad wishing me to have a great birthday.  First Robert's mom spoke with me and then I hear Robert's father in the background yelling 'let me talk to her let me talk to her !!!!' (haha!) so then I spoke with him, and ended again with his mom, Renata.  She told me that they sent me a package which I should receive soon !  Maybe today ??  It was great talking to them and so sweet of them to call me !!  Later in the day I will meet with my friend Isabel for coffee and some shopping !!!

I hope everyone's Weekend is lovely :)

One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.

Today is the 2nd day I am unable to work. BLEH!  I decided to go to the Dr's office today and see what's up.  It turns out that I have a severe virus and she doesn't want me back in work for the ENTIRE WEEK.  I am definitely not going along with this, but will not work today or tomorrow.  I will see how I am feeling tomorrow and then hopefully, return to work on Wednesday.

I have been spending the past two days lounging around and drinking the most lovely tea I have ever had in my life.  I am the pickiest girl ever when it comes to teas, but this one, I really adore !!!  It's a ginger chamomile tea with hints of honey and vanilla.  I don't add any sugar, milk, or honey to my tea, because I find that disgusting.  I find that my body is hurting more than ever through this sickness and I am feeling incredibly exhausted.  I suppose that comes with the body trying to repair and heal itself.  It's just obnoxious !

I will try and disregard it though and focus on other things.  I have done some laundry today and cleaned up the kitchen.  If I sit around I will go crazy.  It's already almost 7 O'clock in the evening and Robert should be home for a short while and then he will head off to the gym until shortly after 8.  We will both enjoy Spring Noodle Soup for dinner.  Yes, I am being lazy today and making noodled soup from a mix while I am sick.  I almost feel guilty doing this !!! Terrible, I know.  but I have no energy!!

Insist on yourself. Never imitate.

Today I met with my friend Meadhbh for shopping and lunch at 11 this morning.  We shopped around for some hours and then had lunch at a tasty Thai place around 2 O'clock followed by some more light shopping.  I found some things from Zara's, WE, and Vera Moda!  Love ALL of them !

I have been wanting shoes like these for a long long time and I finally found a pair after looking and looking that I am happy with and really enjoy.  I am trying to buy good quality shoes and clothes now that I am making better money and want to look nice and have nice things which will last.  I feel like this makes the most sense rather than purchasing new things over and over with cheaper items.  It seems quite illogical.
Here if a fitted purple sweatshirt which is incredibly comfortable and I have NONE!  I feel like fitted pullovers (especially this cool purple one) look really nice for a relaxed feel with fancy jeans and great shoes or leg warmers with leggings and such.  SO HAPPY that I finally have a pullover.
And this little dress is FABULOUS.  The picture does it no justice.  it's actually silk in the center and the rest is a really light cotton material.  It is a pinky beige in 'real life' and I just adore it!  I will probably pair it with grey tights and a fabulous scarf !
I bought some other things from Rossmann but nothing TOO exciting.  Hair masks, deodorant, some vitamins, water, and body wash (if you wanted to know)  haha!

Today was a nice sunny day.  We haven't had one of those in QUITE a while.  Robert will be home in a little over an hour and we will probably go have coffee somewhere together and relax the rest of the evening.  I will be up for work at 6am tomorrow morning.  I already know that I have scheduled at 8am a brides makeup for her wedding!  I hope she likes it and that it goes well :)

I wish everyone a happy weekend !

Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been

I cannot recall a time in my life where time has flown by as quickly as it is right now.  I have already been working for Adlon Day Spa for 2 months of IN SPA working.  The training I don't really count.  But if you want to count that, I have been working for them for 4 months.  My GOODNESS !!!  I am still enjoying my job, which is good, because after 2 months it would be terrible to hate it already.  It's really lovely though, because Robert just began school this September and is home around 5pm (a huge change from before) and is going to Handball practice only two nights a week now.  For the month of September, I am only working until 6pm, which means that we have a lot more time together.  I am very very grateful for this.
Robert and I have found a new flat to move into !  We will be living there officially October 1st !  Oh my god, only 21 more days until we are living there !  I have no idea WHEN we will have time to pack.  As I said, the time is going incredibly fast, but I know we will find the time.  We sort of have to ;)  We are moving to a flat which  is a little bit smaller than the one we have now and is only one level.  We both feel that the flat we have now is beyond huge and we have too much space which isn't occupied.  Our NEW flat has a very nicely sized balcony and is on the 6th floor of the building.  We have an elevator in our building too, which isn't so normal for Berlin, but is a nice necessity for moving.  We have a fair amount of heavy items and the elevator will come in handy, especially when it comes to moving things to the 6th floor !  So, we are very excited about that :)
Some days ago Robert and I hung out around the city for a bit.  We had coffee, sat by the river, walked around and enjoyed some time after I finished work and he finished his first day of school !  Here are some pictures from the day !

On a side note, I made Lach Soup last night with the help of Robert.  He made this soup for me a couple of weeks back and I LOVED IT !! I asked him to tell me how it was done so that I could make it for dinner.  It was quite tasty, but honestly not as good as when Robert made it.  This first picture is of the Leeks and Ground Beef steaming and the second is of the finished soup !  It is such a fabulous and tasty soup !
